Two DVDs every public library should have
If you want to watch excellent end-of-life care films on DVD for free, go to your local public library.
Public libraries have substantial DVD collections, but chances are they do not own copies of Consider the Conversation, a series of award-winning documentaries that has inspired thousands of conversations between patient and doctor, husband and wife, parent and child, minister and parishioner on end-of-life wishes.
Produced for public television by independent filmmakers Michael Bernhagen and Terry Kaldhusdal and broadcast more than 2,000 times on PBS stations around the country, Consider the Conversation has garnered 22 awards and an Emmy nomination.
There are two films in the series – Consider the Conversation: A Documentary on a Taboo Subject (2011) and Consider the Conversation 2: Stories about Cure, Relief, and Comfort (2014).
Both are available for purchase on Amazon.com.
